R.I.P Alexander McQueen

Can't believe another great has died, what is it with celebrities and death this year? It's awful.

“British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life. The 40-year-old committed suicide just days after the death of his mother, Joyce. His death also comes just three years after his close friend, Isabella Blow – who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star – killed herself.” (DailyMail)

Alexander McQueen was an amazing british designer and will be sadly missed by the whole industry.

Miller and Nodwell

My friends band Miller and Nodwell have been in the process of gigging around the south of England, mainly London, Tonbridge and East Grinstead. We've all been loyal friends and followed them around like little puppy dogs supporting them and clapping at all the right places!

Well it's come to London and is being shown at the Nook on Margaret Street, just off Oxford street, behind Topshop, and is running till the 15th Decmeber. Jiggery Pokery have also submitted pieces for the RCA Secret Sale so if you love the exhibition you will be able to buy their work for just £40 at the sale. Enjoy...

Lets Have Some Fun

The Fun Theory from Volkswagen is a great example of ambient marketing and a brilliant way to reaffirm VW as a "fun" brand who cares about us and the environment. The Fun Theory is an experiment to see if they can get more people to do something by making it more fun, like taking the stairs instead of the escalator, using a bottle bank and putting their rubbish in a bin. Volkwagen is good for your health and the environment...lets have some fun!

Tom Ford - A Single Man - I Certainly Hope So.

Tom Ford is many things - designer, entrepreneur, sex symbol and now director. His highly anticipated new film "A Single Man" starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore with Nicholas Holt (Skins) and Ginnifer Goodman (He's Just Not That Into You) comes out in Feburary 2010. It is adapted from the 1964 novel by Christopher Isherman and tells the story of a professor (Firth) who's life is turned upside down when his partner is killed in a car crash. Here's the trailer:

Tom Ford is well known for turning Gucci around but his own brand is highly successful and uses the idea that sex sells to the MAX!

Ford as a person exudes sexuality and uses this to sell his products.

His ads are often very controversial and shocking and make a real impact.
